Indiana state medical association wants vape tax

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The head of Indiana’s largest doctors’ group says now is the perfect time for Indiana lawmakers to tax vaping.

Dr. Lisa Hatcher with the Indiana State Medical Association yesterday told lawmakers the outbreak of vape sickness shows a need to tax vape pens and vape liquids, if for no other reason than to discourage people from vaping.

Three people in Indiana have died from vape sickness. The state’s vape shop owners say most of the cases of the sickness can be traced back to people who vaped marijuana or other black market products.
