Indiana House okays transgender ban for girls’ sports

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The plan to keep girls’ sports in Indiana just for girls is halfway to the governor’s desk.

On Thursday, the Indiana House approved the package that would stop anyone born a male from playing on a girls’ team through high school.

Republican state Rep. Michelle Davis says the idea is to keep a level playing field.

Democrats say trans athletes deserve to be seen.

The legislation now moves to the Indiana Senate.
