DVR Alert! Here’s What’s on TV Today

Did you know Americans watch the most TV? Of course, we do – with like 300 different networks and streaming services producing so many original shows it’d literally be impossible to find enough time to watch all of ’em.
But we’re gonna try. According to a study, people in North America watch more TV than anyone else in the world. We watch an average of four hours and three minutes a day, which is WELL above the worldwide average of just under three hours.

The study also found that American TV shows are the most popular worldwide. British shows are second. You can celebrate our achievement with some great new television.

  • The series premiere of “Turner & Hooch” on Disney Plus.  This spin-off from the 1989 Tom Hanks movie stars Josh Peck as an ambitious U.S. Marshal who inherits a rambunctious French mastiff from his dad.  (Trailer)

  • The series premiere of “Sexy Beasts” on Netflix.  A dating show where the contestants are turned into different creatures with masks and makeup to find love based on personality, rather than looks.  (Trailer)

 

  • The one-hour special “Olympic Dreams featuring Jonas Brothers” at 8:00 p.m. on NBC.  Olympic athletes train the Jonas Brothers to compete against each other.

 

  • The first season finale of “Kung Fu” at 8:00 p.m. on the CW.

 

  • The first season finale of “Crime Scene Kitchen” at 9:00 p.m. on Fox.

 

  • “$100,000 Pyramid”at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.  Bridget Everett vs Dulce Sloan and Kathy Najimy vs Mario Cantone.

 

  • “Match Game” returns at 10:00 p.m. on ABC.  This week’s panelists are Christie Brinkley, Hilaria Baldwin, Vivica A. Fox, Fred Armisen, Antonio Brown, and Mario Cantone.
