Democrats fail to get support for $100 million in teacher bonuses

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The political back-and-forth over teacher pay raises at the Indiana Capitol isn’t slowing down.

Democrats yesterday failed to get enough support for their plan to pump $100 million dollars into the state’s teacher bonus grant program.

Republicans at the statehouse continue to say they are willing to look at paying teachers more in the next state budget. That budget, however, won’t come until next year.
