Crash at Jefferson and Webster sends two to the hospital

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people were hospitalized after a weekend crash on Jefferson. On July 20, 2019 shortly after 4:15 pm the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Jefferson Blvd and Webster St.

Officers were advised that there was an SUV and a Motorcycle involved. They were also advised that there was a male and female that were on the motorcycle at the time of the accident and they had both been thrown from the motorcycle.

Upon officers arrival, they found an adult male and female that had been on the motorcycle and they were still on the ground. Paramedics arrived and began emergency care and transported both victims to a local hospital in serious condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital Officers on scene were advised that both victims had been downgraded to critical condition. The driver of the SUV appeared to have no injuries.

Initial information provided to officers and investigators was that both vehicles were heading east on Jefferson and as the vehicles got to the intersection of Webster St. there was contact between the 2 vehicles causing the occupants of the motorcycle to be thrown off the motorcycle. The exact cause of the contact is unknown at this time.

Investigators arrived on scene and began to speak with multiple witnesses in an attempt to establish the sequence of events that led up to this accident.

This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
