Alcohol, phone usage, and speed named factors in DeKalb Co crash

DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Police in DeKalb County say a woman was injured in a crash Sunday morning.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department said their officers responded to the 3800 block of County Road 63 just before 12:30 a.m.

A press release said a vehicle was traveling southbound when it went over a set of railroad tracks and lost control. The vehicle then went into a ditch on the west side of the road, where it rolled before coming to a stop.

The driver initially refused medical treatment but was later found to have injuries as a result of the crash. Although, it was not made clear what injuries she sustained.

Alcohol, cell phone usage, and speed are contributing factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
The Butler Police Department, Butler Fire and Parkview DeKalb assisted the sheriff’s department in the crash.
