FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that two dogs were rescued from a house fire on the city’s west side around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Crews were called to the 1800 block of Steup Avenue and quickly contained the fire which they believe was electrical.
The house has moderate fire and smoke damage.

Fort Wayne Firefighters were called to a house on fire at 1826 Steup. On arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire coming from a living room window of the home. Firefighters performed an aggressive fire attack and search of the home. They quickly extinguished the fire in 6 minutes. No occupants were inside the home at the time of the fire; however, 2 dogs were inside and were removed from the home.
Investigators found the fire was electrical in nature.
