FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The man convicted of killing Gery Rucker in September 2021 in Fort Wayne will spend the next 80 years in prison.
WANE-TV reports that Derrick Dennis Jr. apologized to Rucker’s family and his own when he was sentenced yesterday.
He said he acted in self-defense when he shot the victim. The coroner ruled Rucker died from several gunshot wounds.
