COLUMBUS, Ohio (ADAMS) – Two Democrat Ohio Redistricting Commission members are proposing a delay for the state’s primary election.
State Senator Vernon Sykes and House Minority Leader Allison Russo are proposing moving the contest from May third to June 28th.
The lawmakers cite the lack of approved district maps as reasoning for the delay. The commission has until Monday to provide congressional and legislative district maps to the Ohio secretary of state after the supreme court struck down a third version of the layout over alleged Republican gerrymandering.
