UPDATE (November 19, 2021):
This Thanksgiving, the turkeys getting a presidential pardon are from the Hoosier state.
Turkeys named “Peanut Butter” and “Jelly” come from a farm in Jasper.
They were selected to be pardoned by President Biden in a White House ceremony next week. The tradition of pardoning turkeys dates back 150 years.
The Biden Administration said the turkeys will come from Farbest Farms in Jasper.
Once the turkeys have their big day with the president they will live out the rest of their days at Purdue’s Animal Science Research and Education Center in West Lafayette.

WASHINGTON D.C. (ADAMS) – We’re inching closer to knowing just which southern Indiana turkeys will be pardoned at the White House this week.
The Biden Administration yesterday said the turkeys will come from Farbest Farms in Jasper.
The two turkeys will make the trip to Washington, D.C. for the festivities.
Once the turkeys have their big day with the president they will live out the rest of their days at Purdue’s Animal Science Research and Education Center in West Lafayette. We should find out the turkeys’ names later this week.

JASPER, Ind. (ADAMS) – Southern Indiana has a tie to this year’s official Thanksgiving at the White House.
The Biden Administration last week confirmed that the two turkeys that will be pardoned this week will come from a farm in Jasper, Indiana.
No one is saying just which farm, or just which turkeys. The president has pardoned a turkey each year since 1947.
The turkeys usually live out the rest of their lives at a petting zoo once they are freed by the president.
