INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Republicans in the Indiana Senate are proposing phasing out the state’s personal income tax.
Senator Travis Holdman of Markle is sponsoring Senate Bill 3 to study the current tax climate.
In looking at eliminating the income tax, a new commission will also look into unfunded pension liabilities, property tax structures, the state’s overall financial position, and debt obligations.
The commission would give lawmakers recommendations by December 1, 2024.
