A Fort Wayne man has been identified by the Allen County Coroner’s Office as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday night.
William Miller, 55, was pronounced dead at the hospital after crashing on West Jefferson into a guardrail.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at about 19:10 hours the Fort Wayne Police Department was notified of a single vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist at the intersection of West Jefferson Boulevard and Catalpa Street. The motorcyclist was transported from the scene to a local hospital where death was pronounced a short time after arrival.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted and advised of the death. The motorcyclist has been identified as William G. Miller, male, white, 55 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Notification has been made to the next of kin.
The Cause of Death has been determined to be Multiple Blunt Force Injuries and the Manner of Death is Accident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
William G. Miller is the 33rd Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Allen County for 2022.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on West Jefferson Tuesday evening.
Police think that speed was a factor in the crash that happened around 7 p.m. close to Catalpa Street.
Witnesses said that the bike was heading eastbound when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail. He was taken to the hospital but died shortly after arriving. Police say he was wearing a helmet.
FWPD officials released the following:
On Tuesday September 6, 2022 at approximately 7:10 PM officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a personal injury accident involving a motorcyclist near the intersection of West Jefferson & Catalpa Street. As officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, they observed an adult male victim unresponsive on the side of the roadway.
Paramedics provided medical attention to the male victim before transporting him to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. A short time after arriving at the hospital, the male victim was pronounced deceased. The Allen County Coroners Office will release the cause of death as well as the victim’s identity.
Witnesses on the scene told investigators that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Jefferson at a high rate of speed before losing control and crashing into a guard rail. The victim was the only person on the motorcycle. The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Eastbound Jefferson at Freeman Street was closed for a period of time while the scene is processed.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department F.A.C.T Team. Jefferson Blvd was reopened at approximately 8:40 PM to all traffic.
