UPDATE (March 15, 2022):
The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the man found dead next to train tracks in rural DeKalb County.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is reported to be handling the investigation and reportedly said that the man’s car had broken down close to the tracks on Sunday.
Despite that, it is unclear why the man, now identified as 64-year-old Bradley Wayne Boggs, was on the tracks at the time that a train came through. His death, according to the coroner, was caused by ‘Blunt Force Injuries’ when being struck by a train.
The manner of Boggs’ death is still yet to be determined.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On Sunday, March 13, 2022 at about 1115 hours, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted and advised of a pedestrian being struck by a passing train, in the 19300 block of SR 1, in Northeast Allen County. The Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Northeast Fire and EMS, and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police were on scene.
Notification has been made to the next of kin of Bradley Wayne Boggs, male white 64 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Cause of Death has been determined to be Blunt Force Injuries, due to Pedestrian Struck by Train, and the Manner of Death is Pending Further Investigation.
This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – We’re waiting for answers about a body found in rural DeKalb County.
The sheriff’s office says they got a call yesterday afternoon about a body that was found near train tracks at North County Line Road and State Road 1.
There are no answers about who the body is, how they died, or how long the body was out in the elements.
